Faux Finishes

From rust, grime, earthy moss and slimy mold, Sam Huff believes there’s an element of creating a faux finish that is inherently magical. Sam posses a skill at color matching and texture recreation that allows her to transform the mundane into the spectacular. Using common items in innovative ways, Sam is able to create realistic grunge, corrosion, oxidation, patination, weathering and aging on a variety of surfaces.

Epoxy Sculpt + paint to create faux stone, wood and hammered metal finishes for How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk at Epic Universe 2024.
A combination of Jaxsan, sawdust, epoxy resin, were utilized to create this finish for the Milwaukee Bucks Halloween project in September 2019.

Layers of paint, wood blocking, a sawdust mixture for moss, and aging techniques were applied for this exterior of a haunted attraction developed for the Milwaukee Bucks Halloween project in September 2019.
A foam carved wall of faux stone rocks and a faux wooden hearth were painted for a local theatrical production by Keen Designs in February 2020.

After hardcoating carved foam, layers of airbrushed and drybrushed paint were applied to these life-like banyan trees for Tribe Kava Lounge by Keen Design in May 2020.
